Buying a car unseen

I bought my M340i Touring from a specialist performance car dealer in Hertfordshire. I'm in Central Scotland. Painless experience from start to finish, had no issues at all.
I was wary of buying unseen but I wanted a specific spec/colour/mileage G21 and they were simply unavailable where I am. Sales guy I dealt with was top notch, sent a link to a 4k walk round video and loads of pictures.
I had it delivered to me and the car was everything I expected. The biggest worry I had was bank transferring the £47k payment to someone I'd never met before, was a bit of a bit of a nail biter!!
I'd buy from distance again but I guess I had a positive experience, there's no cast iron guarantee that the next time I'll have the same, so yeah - YMMV.

As a tight fisted Scotsman I chanced my arm and asked if they would include the cost of delivery since I was spending a decent chunk of cash. They agreed.
A lot of places will charge extra for delivery, some won't so it's worth checking with the seller and if it's extra, chance your mitt and ask it to be included! They can only say no!!
I would probably only do it if it was a car from a reputable dealer and still within manufacturers warranty, so that any problems could be fixed locally and for free.
Just doesn’t seem worth the potential hassle otherwise (ie sending it back to the dealer you bought it from half way across the country for any warranty work etc).
I would probably always want a written description of the condition of the car in writing as well (ie the dealer putting in writing that it has no body/paint/interior damage or defects etc).

It's arrived, and it's condition is as advertised, phew.
2020 G31 520i MSport touring, 20K on the clock, with comfort pack + tech pack. Will be interesting to see how hard it is to keep the interior looking fresh as it's white leather, really wanted black or tan but struggled to find one in the right spec.
