Buying a guitar. Beginner advice.

Yamaha Pacifica here and an old Park G10 amp, does the job alright.
Beginner guitarists are spoiled for choice. So much good equipment for little investment.
Personally I'd budget c30% for the instrument, 40% amp and some left over for things like a looper pedal/tuner.
I like the look of the Jet JS400 - it reviews incredibly, has awesome spec and looks good
For the amp the Boss Katana 50 is hard to beat - you'll pick one up second hand for £150. Its very versatile and can get very loud but also has a built in attenuator to reduce the power
A tuner is a good idea at least until you develop an ear. You'll use it forever.
A looper is also a good idea because you can record yourself and quickly identify how crap your strumming sounds!
All easily done for £500
