Buying a mobile from ebay?

I got my nexus 5 delivered from eBay yesterday and it was boxed as new with unopened charger, I also got my last one from eBay and have sold a few.

eBay mobile shows that description just fine, he probably just didn't read it because you have to tap the condition text to get the added bits.

I've bought a couple of handsets through ebay without any problem - including a 2nd hand one for my girlfriend. The biggest obstacle with private sales is whether the individual really understands what they're selling - like whether it's network locked, or whatever.

I've bought a couple of phones off the bay, one was fine, the other was not as described (had marks and scratches despite being in "as new" condition). It was a bit of a hassle to return, so wouldn't be hurrying back.
