Hi all
I'm currently using a pretty old MSI HD6950 graphics card which is finally starting to show its age, and now struggles a little running some games on anything higher that medium settings. So I'm planning to upgrade to something like the new AMD RX 480.
However when looking at some of the newer graphics cards such as this one I noticed they seem to have say 3 display ports and 1 HDMI port. My current card has 2xHDMI and 2xDVI ports.
I currently use two ASUS VN247H 23.6-inch monitors which as far as I can tell don't have display ports, they have HDMI and DVI. So my question is if I'm upgrading my graphics card, do I then need to consider upgrading monitors as well?
I'm already planning to order one new monitor (probably just looking to spend a couple of hundred at most) so I can have a nice 3 monitor setup, with a triple monitor stand, so if its best to connect the monitors via display ports I can definitely look at getting at least that one with a display port.
I know there's display port to HDMI adaptors available, but I have no idea whether these are any good or whether they affect say response times. I primarily use my PC for gaming so performance/response times etc are all important to me.
Any advice would be much appreciated, thanks in advance.
