Every time I think I find some ddr4 to buy theres an issue like its 3600 that wont even do 3000mhz etc
any idea ? should i get crucial or b die and is there a source that tells us that the ram were buying is b die ?

i'm looking for cl 16 3600 that will actually comfortably do that speed and timing ?

+ 1 watching with intrest.

from what I can gather only 14-14-14-31 and 14-14-14-34 timing is b-die ?

So I think it's just a case of buying cas 14 with those timings and it should clock past 3600

or buy 4400mhz ddr4 which is almost certainly has to be b-die ?

No mate don't rush in i'm not yet but it makes sense as all the cl14 stuffs the most pricey but you must read the small print specs
example corsair is selling some C14 stuff but when you look further it's actually cl 15 timings at 3200mhz

With any Ryzen there is an element of luck. There is no guarentee what the memory controller will be like on the chip.

Some 3600's can do 1900 FCLK, some 3900x's cant. Most will do 1800.

This is why the recommended ram spec by AMD is 3600MHz.

I'd buy the 8 Pack CL14 3600MHz kit if I was buying or the Patriot Vipers 4400MHz kit.

I got some toughram
As wanted 3600mhz rgb ram
And the Thermaltake rgb software is actually way better than Asus aura or gigabyte rgb fusion
Comes at cas18 but quick mess around with thaiphoon burner and dram calculator dropped it to cas16 easily
So if you want nice rgb ram that will do
3600mhz at cas16 it does
Cost was approx 190 for 32gb
If you don't want rgb there are other options

This is what I got.

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £128.69 (includes shipping: £8.70)

And this is what it does so pretty decent for one of the cheaper kits.

That makes me very happy!

Have this exact kit waiting at home ready to be installed on my new build. Hope I'm as fortunate with the silicon lottery!

I did quite a bit of research and this kit came out on top all things considered.Good and reliable manufacturer, top quality parts, CL14 timings, and a choice of mhz to suit your needs.

As others have mentioned 3600mhz is the sweet spot on Ryzen. Yes it is possible to achieve better performance, but seeing a benchmark demonstrating this, and building / buying a system capable of it are two completely different things. It is essentially luck.

Most importantly, CL14 3200MHz will benchmark on par with CL16 3600mhz. At least with team Group kits anyway.

Long story short if you want plug and play go CL14 at 3600mhz. Up to you which brand but I'd recommend the above.

If you want the most cost effective go for the CL14 at 3200mhz.which can always be clocked up to 3600mhz - 3800mhz depending on how lucky you are.

I just went for patriot viper 3600 c15 in the end wont be b-die but it doesn't seem like 3600 based system and mid range gpu even benefits from above 3600 speeds much until you're at high end gear

I chose 8Pack RIPPED 3600Mhz CL16.

R5 @ 4.225Ghz 3 Cores / 4.4Ghz 3 Cores.
1867Mhz Infinity Fabric
Memory at 3733Mhz, running 1usmus 3200Mhz 'Fast' timings.
100% Stable.

This score is verryyyy close to Joxeons score above at 3800Mhz Ram speed.

i got conned (not by ocuk)they use the base timings to make it look like you're getting 3600 cl15 in product descriptions why is the patriot viper 3600 stuff cl 17 wow
ill see if it can do CL16 at 3600 if not it's going back don't like the way they word it loosely like that thought i was buying c15 ram but thats c15 at 2100

update they are doing CL16 at 1800 so i guess ill just keep them
