I found a great deal on a used 480gb Sandisk Extreme ssd. Reading the reviews it seems like a good drive but was wondering if buying a used ssd was a bit risky? It comes with a 90 day retailer's warranty and will be used as a boot drive, any thoughts will be appreciated.

Ask what kind of use it's had and what the smart wlc value is.

I bought a used Samsung 840 250gb last week for £75 and it's only had 2.9tb written to it and a wlc value of 15.

Its from a large retailer and I doubt they will be able to answer questions like that due to time etc. It is about £150, which seems like a steal, albeit a risky one. Original warranty was 3 years but I don't think it has been out that long. (I know I won't get the original warranty but it may be an indicator of how long Sandisk expects it to last)
