buying car from trader at their home

The cynic in me says this is well dodgey and should be reported to the police, but the other side of the coin is the guy could just be a weirdo.

But asking for cash is suspect, drill in the VIN is suspect, and the common scam for selling a cloned car is to find an unnoccupied house to sell the car from there so there is no comeback.

Update on this.
Went to see the car anyways as was curious to see the condition. Car was pretty much perfect (no visual damage) and drives normal. No pics as it started raining.

Comes with all 3 original keys and documents but no service history.

BUT (3 things)
there is a little drill hole of about 6mm in the VIN chassis plate
Trader will only accept cash, NOT even accepted if was to pay cash in his bank acc and seems to be a part rented home

Guess I'm pulling away from this deal. Sad though I did like it a lot
:o

Don't walk away RUN, Trader, no service history on a 2006 plate car umm.

I know it can happen, oops I lost the service history etc. I smell bull.

Just had a read of the ad again, it says full service history ?

Report him to Autotrader for a, pretending to be a private seller and b, lying about the

cars history to gain more interest.
