Buying from a dealer - not helping with fault

I was originally asking for links and details about the law that would help him as I couldn't find it, not if OcUK thinks he has a case.
But we don't know whether he has case as it depends on whether it is wear and tear items or something more serious.

Brake cylinders should not leak under normal wear and tear. To the dealer !
Tell them he doesnt give a **** about what the T&C of the warranty states. Sale of goods act says the goods they sell must be fit for purpose and free from defect.
Its highly likely they topped up the brake fluid and left it leaking when they sold it him. Its up to them to prove it wasn't present at the point of sale as per post #2

Dealer will likely have told him to contact warranty company.
Warranty company tell you to get a garage to find out whats wrong, and quote to fix it, then send to them for approval before carrying out the work.
Warranty company at this point have turned round and said no.
So back to dealer time, and time to get him to pay out of his own pockets instead of the yearly premium he pays AA for warranty insurance for his cars.
Which he will be reluctant to do and probably need threat of legal action to take notice of.
This is why I mentioned earlier. It depends specifically what part of the brake system we are talking about here. Pads and discs are consumables. If they have gone withing a day of leaving the forecourt, more than likely you'll just have to lump it or perhaps get a good will gesture from the dealer.
In this case though, a brake master cylinder should be covered under whatever warranty the issuing dealer has supplied, and definately covered under SoGA.
