Buying in the next few days. £800 before GPU.

the mb you've speced only has 1 pci-e x16 so NO sli/xfire so the 850w psu isn't needed, the 650w will be sufficient. the gigabyte z68ap-d3 would prob be a better choice, save £15.

the original chosen ram(the vengeance) is only a earth shattering £2 more than the kingston so

the computer owns the license of windows 7 not the person when it comes as OEM

if you purchase that retail version the license will become yours as a person

thats the official stance afaik... would I bother? no... ms are rich enough

A computer can't ever be a legal entity and therefor it can't own anything.

The only way for a non person to own anything is to incorporate a company and let the corporate entity be the legal owner.

Anything else in a EULA or otherwise is pretty much unenforceable.

In the past when I have used a used a standard disc to install windows the auto activation failed and I needed to manually do it over the phone.

Thanks for the info, guys. Here's how the build's looking now. I've taken off W7 and gone for a 750W PSU, saving £100!

Your getting it!

But you will have to phone activate it.

I've burned the image using Nero onto a DVD-RW and set the BIOS to boot from disc, but nothing happens, it says "press any key to boot from disc", but then it just starts loading the OS from the HDD. Any ideas?

*Edit* The autorun that's now on the DVD-RW "works", in that it will try to install W7. But of course I have to be in the OS to be able to run it. Do I need to install W7 on the new SSD from within this install first, before building the new rig?

**Edit** Ignore me. For some reason the mobo won't boot from disc if the 2nd boot device is set to the HDD; I have to set the disc drive as the only boot device and then it works.

Is it all installed okay now? I believe you want to set the SATA mode to ACHI if your installing on an SSD
