Buying Mercedes A45 Used 2017, 38k

I’d be glad not to have Keyless on such car if I’m honest, Keyless without a Faraday Pouch/Box makes it extremely easy for “tools” with the correct “tools” to clone the signal and drive away hassle free.

On the flip side it does potentially make you the target if someone is determined to steal it, but I'd rather have an old school key on balance.

True, but you would hope they just leave it alone… No doubt some will only operate and attempt theft via this method.

Some “gangs” will only look out and attempt the easier ones such as keyless, they all have their preferred methods in their “craft”!

On the flip side, mines keyless but they attempted to gain entry to the property, CCTV showed no intention of the keyless method just straight down my drive and round the back to try and get in.

Or if the Pop and Bang map isn’t up to standard :p

The pops on the 2017 a45 is as good as it got for the 4 banger, every model before and after sounds significantly quieter. Unfortunately you have to really give it throttle to hear the pop otherwise the a45 is pretty tame without an aftermarket kit

You already have a thread here:

Might be best to keep all your stuff in one place.

I re-call lots of them being sat at traffic lights with Launch Control engaged before letting off and setting off normally :D

They'll just come in and get the keys instead.

Obviously that’s a possibility, but not necessarily a given.

Maybe it’s a group who prefer the lower risk and ease of stealing only keyless cars and would prefer to move on to the next rather than entering a home and having to search for car keys.

Regardless, I think not being Keyless makes your car far less likely to disappear one morning, however there is still a chance they would attempt to get hands on the keys.

On Mercedes, if you double click the fob to lock the car you disable keyless entry so you need to click unlock on the fob to open the car.
