i have a raptor 74gb which is the main drive running win xp pro. since i have lost my win xp pro cd i am now buying vista ultimate 32 bit. i also wanna buy another raptor to set up with the first one in a raid arrangement. how do i do this and how do i set up the new version of windows on these drives. i have a dfi lanparty 875 pro m/b (socket 478)

I did a similar thing for an XP build recently. I got quite interesting results from 2 Raptors.

Assuming you have an onboard RAID controller, it should be a simple process of plugging in your second drive and setting the BIOS to use the drives as a RAID array. Then running some software to configure the raid array and installing windoze.

The array configuration is done in the RAID BIOS, no extra software involved. You'll need to give the Vista install the RAID drivers so that it can recognise the array. Thankfully this has been sorted with Vista and any form of media is OK unlike XP which would only read them off a floppy.
EDIT: Be aware that setting up a RAID0 array will wipe both drives so backup anything you need to keep.
