hi all ,

i really need to upgrade and have a budget of £800 max
i guess ill need to buy a new PSU as the antec one of 400w is prob not enough ?
i have a sata 120gig HD , keyboard, monitor , mouse dvd/cd drives
so i need a mobo, proc, gfx card , ram (2gb min)

ive decided on an Intel Core 2 DUO E6600 "LGA775 Conroe" 2.40GHz (1066FSB) £230 and to stay with ATI

any help with mobo,PSU if needed, ati card and ram would be extremely appreciated .. thanks

Honestly, I'd have gone with a e6300,6400, but you don't seem confident overclocking from your post.

May I ask what resolution you game at? You may be able to get away with an 1800XT easily, and buy a nice new barracuda, because imo 120gb isn't enough :p

its primary purpose is gaming, and my current setup consists of ;-
P4 3.2 HT ,894ram,9800XT pro which really is starting to struggle
the gfx card is on its last legs, i have to underclock it in smart Dr to its min speeds

i only ever set my resolution to min 1280*1024 for any game

I'd say keep the 1900XT then, it'll last you for longer than the 1800 would, and it's silent! Try clocking it if you ever get the chance, great new build, it should last you years
