Buying replacement plates with the smallest possible makers mark?

I don't think anyone actually cares about it as long as the reg is easily readable.

Should do but I bet there isn't an MOT centre in the country that will actually fail a car for that.

Not when I put the OEM mount and plate back on before taking it to the MOT

I've ordered a set of the eBay plates, if they're rubbish then I've only wasted twelve quid - I've already had an email confirming they've been dispatched.

Is that not just the maker? I had a quick look online and seems it needs 'BSAU145d' on them for it to be a 'legal' plate.
