says the guy who thinks he will outgrow standard weights instantly. Here you go again with your 'must spend a million pounds on a treadmill to have the desired effect'.
They lift weight and cost approx 200+$ cheaper than ironmasters.
Also:
He can't afford iron masters.
and start lifting 40kg dumbells and 120kg barbells. No point buying the argos/tesco stuff, you'll out grow it instantly.

I like how he went from a small budget and only wanting 20kg dumbell (which he likely wont be able to lift for along time anyway he will likely have to start at like 10kg) to being told he needs olympic weights because as you said and start lifting 40kg dumbells and 120kg barbells.
lets face it most people who start weight lifting don't keep it up it's likely a good idea for him not to spend a small fortune on weights he won't be able to lift anyway
Im not sure i follow, bro wants to save money, bro would save £250 by not buying ironmasters, yet should still buy ironmasters?
well most standard barbell bars can handle 110-120kg + weight of bar (dumbells will likely be able to handle whatever weight you can fit onto them) obviously you can't go dropping standard barbells and flinging them around whilst they are the near max weight capacity shouting "RAHHHH" like the gym idiots because the bar would bend from the impact force which would be much greater than 120kg if the bar had 120kg of plates.Hence why I gave him two links. One to the individual bar (as I don't know what he has currently in terms of a setup) another to the whole site which stocks everything.
Please read.
inferior according to you because it's slightly more convenient and 200 is a lot of money if he doesn't keep on liftingfor the sake of £200 is it really worth buying the inferior option in the long run?
I know what your saying but if moneys tight, you gotta buy the cheapest option, they will always useful, of course in ideal world everyone would have ironmaster style bells. Also a bro might get bored of lifting in a couple of months anyway, ive still got my original Golds weight set that i use for dumbells, doesn't take long to change them and they were half price on hukd
I think the answer is look for bargains
I can't believe some people are so lazy they can't be bothered to use collars so spend 250 on ironmasters it takes like 10 seconds to get a collar off and stick more weights on/off your supposed to rest between sets for like a minute or so anyway giving you plenty of time to do it if you need to take some weight off for the last few lifts
Guys chill, I've kept the fitness thing up for quite a few months now and 6 days a week at that. The dumbell is mainly just for curls and a few other exercises if I want to get a nice juicy pump before heading out (not srs... semi srs)I go to the gym to workout properly.
OP needs this
