I am looking to buy an SSD (not sure which one yet) to run windows, apps, latest games ect.

I just wanted to ask if I can still use my current windows drive in its current state? As I have about 15 games installed on my current drive and wouldn't want to re-install.

So, once I install the SSD drive.. install windows on it.. change the drive priority to boot the SSD... can I still access/use all my programs that were installed on my old windows drive?

You could do but youd come unstuck as the shortcuts would be different, theyd be looking to C:, when they could be on D or E.

Also youd lose your saves unless you copied them over to the new drive.

The easiest way to get your SSD up and running as the windows boot drive whilst keeping all your settings, installs etc, will be to use an imaging utility to make a drive image of your current C drive onto your new SSD. If you've not already got some imaging software, a cheap way of doing things is to download a free trial of something like Acronis True Image: http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/download/trueimage/
