Buying washing products for new car

This is the stuff you want to properly detail your car.

I see all those cleaning products as wasted horsepower in terms of mods you could have had but didnt:p

dont get me wrong the car looks stunning, I wouldnt want to drive it though :D

within 10 minutes of being on the road its covered in crap again anyway, as long as the interior is clean I'm a hppy chappy - £5 to my local cosavan crew does me fine like I said 10 mins later you cant tell the difference anyway.

thats just me

Each to their own :)

Overkill.

Probably. No PC/rotary in your pic of what you need to "properly detail your car", instead there is a can of Einszett WSP, plenty of filler in that IIRC...I guess it depends on what you want as a result.

I too am a fan of EX-P and Nattys wax ... PS HOW GREAT DOES IT SMELL!!! Its tempting to eat :p

I sold my PC, couldnt quite get on with it. Probably going to be buying one of those cheap rotarys off ebay.

All I can see are some photos of a Subaru with massive amounts of image sharpening to bring out the detail.

Looks rubbish :p :D :(

Fireworks > Filters > Sharpen > *Click once.

Always do it that way as the cameras I use (Dimage A200 or Finepix F810) seems to give crap results, in crap hands...a bit blurry and nothing like real life. I'm more tempted to go to a meet just to have a pic of my car done by rg-tom than a hoon as I never get it right. Clicking "sharpen" seems to bring it a bit closer to real life, on my monitor anyway.

As offered in a previous thread, you are very welcome to stop by (not too far away I remember) and have your Rover PC'ed on a panel and to check out the finish on the scoob. If the scoob is any less "sharp" than it appears here, I'll detail your car gratis and buy you a pint :D

Top quality finish, I know how much prep went into it. Might seem like overkill to some, but once you have your car detailed like this it is soooo much easier to keep it looking good - just a quick weekly wash and an occasional top up of the last step product. Great work! ;)

Where are you based? Ill pay you to come detail Project Sport if it means me not having to buy a PC and all the gear ;)

Oh, I wasn't saying the sharpening looked rubbish (hell, I use it all the time on photos ;)), I was just joking that the car looked rubbish.

Thanks very much for the offer. The car is a mass of swirl marks and gritty paintwork (although not so much anymore), would love to see how it turns out. The bonnet is probably the only part of the car that doesn't have filler/primer on it, so that'd be the best panel to do, heh.

We'll have to sort something out soon :)

the cheap ebay rotaries are alright. Take a little time to master though.

These are what I use (full list):

Meguiars hyperwash
Meguiars #7 show car glaze
Meguars #82 swirl free polish
Meguiars scratch-x
Megs DC1/DC2/DC3
Meguiars Gold class liquid wax
Sonus green clay (great stuff as its pretty mild)
Poorboys EX-P sealant
Poorboys Natty's paste wax blue
Chemical guys wheel sealant
Turtle wax wet 'n black tyre shine (good and cheap).
Simoniz glass cleaner (again, good and cheap).
Turtle wax wheel cleaner (run 2 bottles, 1 diluted, 1 regular- cheap).
Simoniz leather treatment cream
Turtle wax leather wipes

Orange silverline rotary (with a 6m cable fitted now :)) with flexipad pads

Eurow wash mitt, load of cloths and a sponge for wheel arches.

Karcher K5-50 pressure washer.

P2000 grit paper and a stone chip touch up system.

Tempted to order some collinite for the winter wax now. And maybe get a panel or two and some #80, #83, #84, #85 to practice on this winter :)
