Is it common for there to be a buzzing noise coming from the power connector area of the motherboard? I have the Gigabyte Z87 OC, and there's a definite buzzing coming from around the area mentioned.

What psu are you using? There shouldn't be any buzzing at all, tested with stock cooler to rule out h100 pump as the cause?

Corsair 600w Modular builder series. Actually didn't notice the buzzing until I put the stock cooler on, because the pump from the H100i was too loud to hear it!

It's hard to pinpoint,it can be psu, graphic card or the board itself or a combination of any of those

I'm using an xfx psu on my gigabyte z77 board and no such noise

I don't have a graphics card yet, but I'll try and swap out the PSU in the next few days and see if that's the issue.

Does the noise change pitch? Like an old modem sound? If so its coil whine, you can only test with another psu and rma the board if you can still hear it,but insist on a replacement board,or dsr it if within 14days of purchase for a refund

Definitely just a constant electrical buzz mate.

What's the situation with DSR, am I entitled to a refund regardless of whether they find a fault or not within 14 days? I never got it from Overclockers, and I'm a little worried of the company I did get it from messing me about telling me they couldn't replicate the fault.

It's 7 days if not from ocuk, you can still rma directly to gigabyte if trouble with the seller,if its a constant buzz then it could be psu related, coil whine spikes up and down in loudness, and sometimes moving the mouse cursor around on screen alters the noise

Dsr is full refund regardless,7 days from purchase date,14 if from ocuk

Thanks a lot for the help mate.

Only worry of course is going down that route, then they test and actually find a fault and blame me for it.
