Hi, i have just build an i7 system which is making buzzing sounds from time to time. It seems to happen mostly when loading things like control panel or web pages and other tasks. I am finding it hard to hear exactly where it is coming from but it comes generally from the CPU area. Would i be entitiled to an RMA for this or should i just ignore it?

if it comes from the CPU area, make sure that the heatsink is properly mounted and not moving around. or it could be the fan on the cooler causing the buzzing. try another cooler if possible and see if that fixes it.

i dont think i have ever heard of a CPU actually making a buzzing sound though

check all mounting screws on the motherboard and make sure that the cpu fan is in a stable position might be worth checking the hard drive just in case your getting head crashes etc

Don't know what graphics card you have but there is a lot of reports of 280/285 cards making all sorts of noises.

when i had my 4850 i had a buzzing problem too would be louder on some webpages then other etc, got a sound card and it fixed it so maybe if ur using onboard sound try a sound card.
