Bye bye Rover 400....

Giz us some proper piccies then!!!!... (with Bread!!) :)

Always liked the ti.. very understated car to look at (ickle spoiler) but they go nicely!!..

t1rs are fine, but do wear quickly... which isnt too bad if you have a common size

10k on mine and nearing replacement, thought it was just my driving style.

Pics coming soon! No spoiler on this one, so looks totally sleeper. Just has a small badge the previous owner made saying "T16" on the back :p

What do you recommend when I need new ones? I thought my T1Rs were quite good :)

Not sure, depends how much you're willing to spend and which size tyres you need, i'm a huge fan of vredestein sessanta Ultracs at the moment and i've just ordered my second set, other than that i'd go for something like F1's.

good lad :D

was wondering how long it would be before you get something turbo and petrol :D

*edit*

get the vredsteins. They have quite stiff sidewalls, which make for good turn in on front wheel drive cars. Mine feels much more predictable under extreme cornering with them. The conti sport's sidewalls (the tyres fitted as standard) would flex and wobble the car.

Come highly recommended from me as well.

Nice suprise there Matt, wasn't expecting that!

A few things...

Warm it up/cool it down properly. Give it at LEAST 10 minutes before using boost.
Don't rag it in 1st gear. You'll have a nice bill for a gearbox replacement if you do.
Regular servicing (I change the oil every 6k) keeps everything in good condition.

Oh, and don't coast when slowing down ;) That's probably why you cooked the brakes on the 400.

edit... I just realised who you bought it from. Nice car that one. Look after it ;)

Saw a "tomcat" modified for 350 bhp the other day... burning up a WRX heh.

Was this a claimed 350 or has it been on a dyno? A lot of 220 Coupe's that appear on eBay seem to have 240+bhp, despite running the standard turbo and intercooler.

Wow, seems to have a good reception here! Thought I'd get flamed for getting another Rover :p

Seems to be good value, look forward to getting it home.

Bet agw is happy another local has joined the T series fold, bit of a shock eh :p

Despite basically driving one(!) I still don't quite understand the fascination with Rovers.

However, I do hope you enjoy it in any case.

I for one am not suprised after that massive grin on your face after a ride out in Andy's beast. That's why I guessed 620ti :p 1st dibs on a passenger ride at the next RR as I guessed 1st :D

not after what you said at the RR.

You were buzzing after having passenger rides in turbo'd petrol cars all day :D

Had to happen mate, totally set me off and I haven't stopped looking for something fitting since that day.

Tbh due to fuel economy etc a Rover with a T series was the last thing on my mind, but when others were uninsurable, too expensive or just damn unreliable, I began looking back at the T and found out it isn't quite as bad on fuel as I thought.

Not much will be done with regards to modifying - it currently has a Forge DV and that's about it. The later models were fitted with "chocolate pistons"... need I say more :D

Anyway, some pics in all it's glory...

Proper grandad mobile! :p Actually looks in decent nick and should have some decent poke too.

Need a name and sig change now eh?

Just dont drive it with the foglights on like other rover drivers!

Hell no!

Let's, for once, not have that discussion :p every thread where that's mentioned turns into a verbal pile-on.

It does look proper sleeper, and I tried for a long time to find some rust but just couldn't :)

Only thing is, on one of window slots in the door (outside bit) there is mossy-green mouldy stuff, what's best to remove this?

Proper made up! :D

Lol only mentioned it because the fogs are in in the photo ;)

Is the moss between the seal and the window?

That's the current owner's picture, its not home with me yet :( drove 170 miles last night to confirm the sale.

Yeah the moss is growing there, only a thin coating, not actually growing in lumps or anything :p
