So, as some may know, i wanted a Teg, my insurance company didnt want to know... So i then wanted a FN2, but after many suggestions to try the EP3 and FN2 back to back, and with a splash of common sense I decided the Ep3 was the way to go...

So, after a lot of searching, well a week or so, i found this...

A 55 plate, Satin Silver Civic Type R, EP3... it came with the 18" OZ alloys, which im not overly struck on and im thinking of buying a set of original CTR alloys, but they arent too bad, imo.

I managed to get this for £9489 and considering included kit im very happy with it, it has a smart Pioneer Avic headunit, with Sat Nav, TV tuner, DVD, 6disc changer, iPod plug and Parrot BT, which all seems very nice. It has tinted rear windows, A/C and a nice Momo steering wheel, which lead me to believe it may be a 30th Anniversary edition, but, it isnt badged as such, so probably not.

The only downside to the car from my point of view is the mileage, which for its age (Jan06 registered) is high at 47400, but it comes backed with a full Honda main dealer service history and from the interior its clear the previous owner has really looked after it. :)

Id like to really thank Dup, for taking me a blast in his at the MM earlier this year, where my lust for all things Vtec was born. :)

Sorry ive no better pictures, but unfortunately ive leant my portable sun unit out. :D

That's done a lot of miles over 2 years, but eh, it's probably been motorway at that, so no problem. Good job, and I love those wheels, but perhaps not on the civic.

Nice upgrade.

Dont you regret buying the Swift brand new now, though? I mean it was obvious you'd grow out of your first car quickly and want a change right?

The Swift did exactly what i needed it to do, nippy enough for a bit of fun, slow enough to keep my license clean, so no i dont really regret buying it, i did lose £1500 in 8months on it, but it never failed me and was quite good fun.

Inside pics!

I have no idea why the owner changed from the CTR alloys though, the CTR alloys are so win :/

nice car. are the standard alloys 17"?

Yup, I believe so. The rolling diameter of these wheels+tyres must be pretty much the same as the originals as according to my GPS based speedo the dial speedo is spot on, i was concerned the 18" could have me speeding without knowing it.

yeah the tyre profile probably makes them the same but do they weigh more thats the question

I thought your speedo should be ~3% under the GPS?

My 18" wheels have made me able to do 34mph on the clock and 30 gps. 70 mph is about 65mph GPS.

It doesn't make you speed, it's the other way around :)

why? most cars do but they dont have to.
So the manufacturers can't get sued when you get done for doing 31 in a 30 because your speedo was marginally out.

The OP said the rolling radius was the same as his speedo matched the GPS, if this is the case I'd say the radius had changed.

Not a major problem though so long as you're aware of it.

Nice upgrade :)

I'd keep those wheels, they look good and suit the car without making it look OTT, and help it stand out from the countless other EP3s on the roads.
