Byebye Prelude, deposit has been put down on...

Dont really know much about the Celica but people often think imported non turbo MR2's have higher bhp then the uk when they dont.

Fully prepared for someone to come along and own me. :(

With pleasure :D

Jap cars always have higher bhp than their standard UK equivalent because the Japs use higher RON fuel than us. As soon as you bring your Jap car here though and start using our crappy fuel the bhp will be the same as the UK variant.

I did say about the fuel but isnt a Rev3 MR2 Turbo 245bhp a Jap figure anyway?

If fuel is the case then his 260 is gone anyway as it will be running on uk fuel so uk spec. :p

think 245 is the figure in PS not bhp hence the 239/240bhp figure commonly flung about. And yes, his 260 will be about 240bhp now :D

They have 100ron so in theory our 99ron should be almost as good. 260 does sound a lot and that spec in general is well impressive. I always figure these cars were only good for 200 at best, i guess thats just the new ones.

the rev2 mr2s and st185s Gt4s tend only to make approx 200bhp when tested. Some people attribute this to the crappy airflow meter instead of the map sensor found on the rev3s. The gen2 3sgte engine should theoretically make 220bhp but I've never seen a stock one put out that. However, the gen3 engine as found in our friend here's GT4 should see close to 300bhp once he decats it, puts an exhaust on and ups the boost to 1bar :D
