Went to the village fair last night and my daughter (nearly 3) was just captivated by all the lights and stalls.

I took the following (poor light so ISO800 and a bit noisy). And had a go at producing a duotone B&W version. I like the BW version more as the strong colours in the original detract from her posture and expression.

its a nice shot however judging by the pic it was taken rather candid style, the crop is a bit too tight for my liking, back of head clipped.

a little cloaning on around the corner of the mouth would help this well
 
The shot is pretty well as it came out from the camera (70-300 on camera at the time and I couldnt get any further away !).

BW image had the mouth cloned - colour image is untouched (bar the border).
 
The trouble with the colour is the background is too loud for the portrait, making the B&W seem better - but I don't think the actual subject needs to be in B&W - children often look best in colour IMO.

Also, the brokeh isn't great for a portrait with a harsher edged hexagonal sprites.
