C&C Red Alert 3 Announced

Renegade was a very good game and there was a second one in development but it was at the time EA took over Westwood Studios which meant all work on updates for Renegade were dropped and development on the second game was stopped. Some estimates put the second game at 80% complete at the time EA stepped in. You can still see the images and video of the progress that was made:

There is still a large community that run Renegade multiplayer and you can play it online. You just need to install the latest patch and in most cases RenGuard which is an anti-cheat tool.

Well opinions suck anyway :p:p.
Imo renegade was OK and Generals was ok-good, I enjoyed it quite a lot anyways.

But agree with you hope they don't mess this up, if they do I'll hate them (them = EA) for ever for mass murdering westwood and their style of games :p.

C&C, oh man.

I just dusted off the 10th Anniversary edition which had been languishing on the shelf for some time. Made the gratifying discovery it actually works on the Vista widescreen laptop so currently reliving happy memories playing the very first game. Even now, that music (March of Death, I think) sends shivers down my spine.

Will be interesting to see in the later levels if they fixed the workround where you could just sandbag up to an enemy base, build a couple of turrets and take 'em out.

They don't make them like that anymore.

Now if only EA would get on and rework the Janes Combat series...

.

The Renegade 2 screens/videos look very a post apocalyptic and nothing like C&C anyway.

Renegade single player was meh, but the online part of it was great. Some of the best fun I've had online in any game. At it's peak when loads were playing and the rankings worked it was awesome.

As long as they dont make it all bent with weather storms and the like.

They should make it more like redalert 1, but a bit more pretty and support bigger maps, more units and 16 player internet play
