Electronic Arts Inc., today announced that Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars (C&C 3) is in development for the Xbox 360 videogame and entertainment system. C&C 3 boasts an intuitive console-specific control scheme, fast-action strategy gameplay, deep single player campaign, and an immersive multiplayer experience featuring massive battles where you take control of large armies on the battlefield of the future.

"The Command & Conquer series finally makes its return to the console after seven years," said Mike Verdu, Executive Producer at EALA. "C&C 3 will help expand the RTS genre on the Xbox 360, building off of the foundation laid by the development of The Lord of the Rings, The Battle for Middle-earth II. EA is evolving the console controls so that strategy gaming plays and feels native to the platform."

"C&C 3 is a perfect fit for the Xbox 360," said Mike Glosecki, Senior Producer at EALA. "Xbox 360 players will enjoy the action-packed online play and watching the epic Sci-Fi story of the game unfold as they play through the single player campaign."

The year is 2047 and the stakes could not be higher. Tiberium—a self-replicating alien substance that has infected the Earth—is spreading like a radioactive ice age. The Global Defense Initiative, a high-tech alliance of the world's most advanced nations, is fighting to contain Tiberium, but Kane, the megalomaniacal leader of The Brotherhood of Nod has other plans for Earth. Kane's secret society turned superpower is bent on using Tiberium to take control and transform humanity into his twisted vision of the future. All-out war rages over Tiberium and the fate of the planet rests in the balance.

Asking someone to bomb the EA HQ would be harsh, but someone should seriously EMP their ass or something. How the hell do you play C&C with a controller, I mean ffs!?

Oh noes, they gave us a choice to play it either on PC or console, it's worse than having no console version at all !

/bangs head against brick wall

I understand EA isn't well liked, but I think some people are just finding the lamest excuses to jump on the bandwagon now.

I despise them entirely.

They are like Hollywood. There's no passion, it's all about making money.

There's that, but there's also the fact they go around buying out small studios who have desire and passion to make good games. I wouldn't mind if they stayed in the console market because most (or should I say all) of their PC games suck.

Hah, seems like someone has a grudge against EA.

There is nothing wrong with an RTS on a console. Granted it may not be quite as good as PC, but the same can be said for FPS.

I think you should step away from the bandwagon.

Can you get a mouse for the 360? Surely as it uses a USB connection for the controllers. I ain't 100% on this could somebody fill me in. Otherwise good news for XBOX360 owners.

It's probably being developed primarily for the PC though so it won't matter, just like FEAR, Doom 3, Far Cry, Call of Duty etc, all awesome games that came out on more than one platform

who cares if it's fashionable to hate EA.

point is he is absolutely right, EA suck to the bone.

Even as a 360 owner, this makes me sad. The problem is that often when a game is made for both consoles and PCs, it is 'dumbed down' for consoles. Think Deus Ex 2.

Yup ive had both and Oblivion is far better on the pc aslong as you got a pc to cope with it, don't really concern my c&c on 360 will always be better using a mouse on the pc.

After Battle for Middle Earth hit the 360, I'm actually surprised people didn't see this coming.

Exactly, i imagine it'll be a very similar experience, i'd not be suprised if they used the BFME engine and just modded it.
