C&C3 update 07/06/07

hmm bit annoyed :p

I heard about unit changes and i thought hurray!! finally!!! scrin's aircraft's won't wipe the floor with everything but theres been no major changes or things to counter them, especially their air artillery. Madness!!! :confused:
 
gonna try it shortly and that'd be my first attempt. I'm really surprised they havent lowered the range of scrin's air artillery stupid thing :p and increased the range of pitbulls.

They have also beefed up rocket men a bit...i'm wondering if groups of rocket men in apc's may be good against scrin's air stuff. Something must be!!! :D
 
Nod get venom's which wipe the floor with nod's air stuff but GDI seem to get nothing to counter them at all which is very strange..still trying!
 
by GDi pretty easily, not as easily by scrin

From playing it..to me it seems....

Just get lots of air stuff as scrin and GDI have no chance

Just the power of GDi's tanks is too much for nod to counter, eventually mammoths will always overwelm them.
Avatar's are no match for mammoths overall as they can't move and fire at the same time, and venom's suck vs mammoths too.

Very simple, build an enormous amount of venoms very very quickly which wipe out scrins air stuff pretty instantly, tripods can't fire in the air. Scrin do get some smaller tanks that fire well in the air but none that can mount a proper attack on a nod base. So...strong defence + venom spam for the win :D

imo this patch changes nothing drastic.
 
seriously disappointed by this game and this patch. it hasn't evened anything up yet.

There's so few tactics other than spam which ever unit planetary cruiser, venom, mammoth.


What it needs is some better big online maps where you can do interesting stuff. and something like the battle cruiser out of yuris revenge. Now that was so good in terms of tactics. depending what units you put inside depended how you played the game.
 
Oh how I love playing 2v2 online against people who still just spam tanks, a little Mastermind and Mothership sorts them right out =D

Edit: People need to realize that you're not supposed to sit back and let someone build Mammoths (or whatever), ofcourse if you do this you'll get owned.

the thing i'm most happy about is power plants expanding your build radius but it doesn't stop you from building other things along.


i love being Nod or GDI against someone of the opposite faction but when you get dorks building sonic emitters or obliscs of light into your base - just frustrates me.

That's the most annoying, sometimes your tactics need huge power requirements to spam venoms, your base just gets totally jammed with power plants. they could at least extend the build zone just enough so you can build a power plant right up to the previous one.

Agreed, the game has a lot more tactics than people realise.

there's only 3 main ones

rush
harras power/harvesters
build the big units and attack once you have a huge force.

I find compared to red alert 2/yuris revenge these not even many different ways of doing these either.
 
i had probs getting patch as well but it worked eventually :)

had a sweet game last night im rank 5 and a rank 30 odd joined my 1v1 room.

i spent most of the game with attack bikes and raider buggys plus some rocket guys as defence against tanks.

i kept sending out groups of bikes and buggys to attack the guys harvesters with hit and run attacks to slow his gdi economy down it seemed to work i kept that up through the game and also started luring his tanks to one side of base with bikes an buggys then send in another group at other side of base to do hit an runs on his power refinerys and tech centre (i didnt want to see any mammoths :P )

he tried to rush my base in retaliation so while he was trying that i sent more bikes an buggys into his base at his harvesters and rocket guys defended my base :)

basically i spent whole game doing hit and run tactics on his economy and slowly damaging buildings and running rings around his tanks every time they tried to catch me :)

was good fun :)
 
wowa had a game earlier and the gdi guy got upgraded mammoths out and sonic emitters while i was doing the hit an run tactics (i failed to get his tech centre) he tryed to charge my harvest out post with about 5 or 6 rail gun mammoths i managed to hold him back then went for his harvesters again while keeping my bikes an buggys out of range of his sonic emitters.

the funny thing is he actually surrendered to me since he couldn't get money and i had loads of tech 1 units with cashflow :D
