Sounds like clever DRM to me
Out of interest, why? Don't you have broadband? Or are you just going to boycott a potentially good game just because they're forcing you to use your connection?

I only really play C&C games (single player/skirmish) on my laptop when I can't get online. I'm not an idiot.
Who's internet isn't always on in this day and age. It's fine by me.

Don't really see the problem
Aye. A much better way of checking for pirated copies than anything else they can come up with really, but it's a shame laptoppers like Kreeeee will lose out.Sounds like clever DRM to me
It's not for piracy reasons...?Not that im advocating piracy, but every game thats come out with some fancy way of stopping games being pirated has never worked up until now and it will continue to never work so this is a pointless sly why of the developer attempting it.

So they say.
To me it just sounds like a tacked on 'online feature' which is there solely to give a halfway legit excuse for you needing to be connected to them at any point in time you wish to play your game.
They know full well if they just came out and said 'for DRM purposes it needs to be always connected' that the backlash would be huge. This just covers it up and gives them an excuse to say otherwise.
