Hi,
I was woundering what would be a better option;
i) use a Seagate 500Gb, 32Mb cache for Operating System, Programs & files

ii) use the above drive as D drive HD and install a
Western Digital RE2 160GB SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM (WD1601ABYS)
for the boot up HD.

Which would be the quicker & best option. A dedicated HD for just Operating System ( MS Vista ) and keep a separate HD for programes & Documents.

My new build is going to be ASUS P5KC MoBo, Q6600 CPU, POV 8800GTS.

Or do I just use the Seagate 32Mb Cache HD as the Operating system drive and program HD.

The new PC will be used for Gaming and Photo rendering and Video encoding.

Many thanks

2) but for the second drive install games. Then when you're converting use source-destination on C: to D: rather than C: to C: (single drive)

If not the WD 160Gb is not that fast what about the Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 250GB SATA-II 16MB Cache.
This should be better than the WD 160Gb ?

So is everyong agreed the best option is to use 1 HD, say the Seagate 250Gb 16Mb Cache as drive C, with Op System on. And then have the 500Gb 32Mb Cache HD as drive D with programes and documents on ! ?
