C Walking - Anyone able to do this?

The Mad Rapper said:
Have you any idea what a C Walk actually is?

It's not a dance move, it's a taunt. It was started by the Crips (a notorious LA based gang) to taunt members of opposing gangs.
Yes I know what a C walk is. I wasnt actually referring to Crip walking, I was reffering to clown walking (Crip walking is gang related). Then ofcourse ther eis blood walking which is also gang related.

Anyway, I don't really care for all that stuff. I just like the moves and want to learn it. :)

k, you are wrong.

and

If i was in a club and saw somone "dancing" like that id be in the wrong club or 16 years old.

Arrogant as well as ignorant, atleast you have 2 talents that I don't! Keep your day job sir!

I wonder what clubs you visit and tell me what kind of dancing do you expect to see when you visit a club? Bouncing, hopping and bopping and general arm flailing-undisciplined rubbish?

your really going to have to explain that one to me... i have quite a good brain and to me it looks bloody idiotic.
Someone with "quite a good brain" wouldn't reply saying that something looks "bloody idiotic" so I can only presume you don't have quite a good brain, or just chose not to use it when reading and replying to this thread. :)

If your going to mock this style of dancing please don't just post arrogant nonsense. If your going to be critical then atleast be constructive in some way and have a level of maturity to your post.

Otherwise there is a good saying that goes like this, "If you have nothing nice to say, then don't say anything at all"

No he isn't, and anyone else trashing this thread will incur my wrath :)

c-walking is as difficult as it is cool. I've got a few of the moves going, but I make what I'm doing up as I go along so its difficult to say I can do it, but what I do when dancing isn't too dissimilar.

I've had plenty of good feedback about my dancing ;)
Thank you! About time I had a decent reply on here! Let's see some vids Gilly ;) :D

It is a funny little dance. TBH if I could dance that well I would be claiming bragging rights. regardless of how comical it looks.

Also whats with the brushing of the shoes?

What is the C-walk supposed to spell. I may not be paying attention but everyone seems to be doing it differently and because we are not looking at it top-down its hard to follow their "Its not A dance" movements.

C-Walk can either mean crip walk or clown walk.

As for the brushing of the shoes, this would be just a guess but it might be wiping the blood off their shoes from their enemies (crip walk is gang related used to taunt rival gangs)

Kronologic said:
Now that you mention it I do remember it being something about wiping the bloods off their shoes.
I know its a taunt, but it is supposed to spell something, about the bloods
K well it was a good guess then coz I honestly have no idea what it means or is meant to spell :D

The girls will laugh at you. The rest maybe true though.
No offence but you must either be really young, don't dance or both.

If you can dance well, you will get a lot more attention from the ladies than if you sit on the side doing nothing. FACT.

Even if you can't dance well and give it a go, the girls will appreciatte the fact your having fun and giving it a go. FACT.

I'm a bboy mate. I didn't say that dancing makes girls laugh at you. I said doing the ceewalk will.
Stick to the clouds mate, it's obviously where your natural suited dwelling is!

wikipedia to the rescue. Apparently you can write what you like. The common insult is to write blood and then cross it out.

Imo if you c-walk well you will look good. if you c-walk badly you will look like you are an outcast from the riverdance.

I thought they spelt out Blood with their feet in the dance and crossed it out like that maybe?

When I was on holiday all of the yanks were doing this, they called it "heel toe". Looked pretty cool in the club, however it only works with hiphop beats, nothing else. But that's fine by me as i'd prefer to bounce to some hiphop than "trip" listening to some crappy dance rave stuff.

If you find any tutorials then post em up, i'd like to learn.

"heel toe" is one of the moves in cwalking.

Go to youtube and type in C-walking 101, that is a good tutorial by KyrenC who has a few tuts if you check his user space on youtube.

What if there happens to be one of the Crips Rival gangs in the club that are on holiday over in the UK and you do that in front of them.

You will get knifed right there and then
Just say you were clown walking (non gang related). If you wear red when crip walking that is pretty much blood walking.

Who cares about the gang stuff. It's pretty commercial now as clown walking.

hmmm unlikely, my daughter might find it fairly amusing though! Oh and everyone I know would roll on the floor with laughter.
Then you need to make more friends :p :D

Listen...

I didn't expect this to be to everyones taste, I'm not that naive. BUT, this is a skillful dance and it does deserve respect just like salsa, ball-room and the likes do. Fine this is more modern, not as well known and may look funny to you and others, that doesn't mean that it is not popular among certain groups.

So there is really no point or need to come in this thread to post about how humerous it looks to you or that it looks lame/ghey/idiotic etc.

It's fine and dandy to have an opinion and to speak freely about it but to do it in ignorance just seems a bit immature to me.

P.S This wasn't directed at you FerretBoy. Just general statement.

a sort of cross between a moon walk and Parkinsons disease.
WOAH! My father has parkinsons disease and I REALLY do not appreciatte comments like that, totally uncalled for!!! NEVER mock or use a disease that millions suffer from in vein or in jest, very disrespectful!

locutus12 said:
i also have to say i think every disease / illness is fair game for comedy value. simply because everybody dies so you may as well do your best to make light of it. if some feel its in bad taste... poor them, may they sit on the side and woefully shake their heads in dismay.
Everyone dies, that's true. With diseases like parkinsons disease, the victim suffers through the whole ordeal before meeting the end and I don't think that is something to joke about or laugh at the side effects of such a disease.

I think you and your friend need to seek help, narcissism comes to mind when reading your posts!

El Gringo said:
Woohoo, i second this. You've (Colin) provided enough video footage for a person to form his or her opinion. If some opine that it looks dumb or a wee bit silly it's up to them, in the same way that you may think it's the bee's knees. It's not really your place to call those who disagree "ignorant", or lacking a functioning brain, certainly not after you have so kindly provided so many references and one is to assume that these have been viewed. It smacks of arrogance on your part...
Then so be it, maybe I am. I just don't see the point in posting in a thread with nothing but negativity, what do you gain from it?

Zip said:
I assume narcissism is a disorder that people have to suffer with aswell?

if it is then you are being a hypocrite
narcissism is a disorder that can be treated. Unlike a disease such as parkinsons which can't. HUGE DIFFERENCE. Not only that but I wasn't saying it as a joke or making a mockrery of the disease.

Hypocrit? I think not!
