C1 Driving Test

Yes, should be a sub-section of motors - The UK is crying out for a decent HGV forum, this could be the start of something good.

Well Dons?
:)

Someone is after a moderator's job. :p

Oh, do I need a C1 licence to drive one of these?

You don't honestly think they'd let me lose as one of those do you?:o:D

Seriously - I think it would be an interesting sub forum for the Motors forum - we could go one better and have a sub forum for Bikers as well as Truckers. :)

Thats a good point! :D

Well I passed the C1 driving test today at the second attempt, not something I would want too do again that's for sure! Total cost was £780 but I did have the medical for free.

Congrats mate :), you think that was hard, try the C+E test. ;):D

Not something I would want to do in a hurry that's for sure! The sheer level they expect for a whole hour is incredible!

Hand on heart after failing once and passing today, I can honestly say that you need a fair dollop of 'luck' in terms of other road users and indeed the mood of the examiner ( I had the same guy twice ).

I have always been very sympathetic for lorry drivers etc, but the last couple of weeks has taught me a new respect and way of driving when there are LGV/HGV about.

I know that you need to do that test in some areas and I've never planned on becoming a paramedic.

You must have done loads of research into your new job

Good for you.

Nice one mate! I remember seeing an ambulance going full tilt and drifting round a corner of george sqaure in Glasgow, that was fun to see.

Who got the MS90s and why only 3 points for each one?

That was me. :o - Two seperate counts of failing to provide drivers details. I'd been done twice by a camera, but moved house in the meantime, the NIP etc went to my old address and I never knew about it until the baliffs turned up at my new address 2 years after!

You might find the van easier to drive than a car :D I learned to drive in one and love the better view etc.. Just be careful when reversing and constantly check your wings, bad habit i got from driving vans is a heavy foot and only using wing mirrors when reversing cars :o

I can parallel park a 53 ft artic better than I can do the same in a Mondeo!

Not sure if I should be proud or ashamed of that! :o:p:D
