Hi all

I'm tempted to get a E6320 and a S775 mobo to change for this AM2 bits, my problem is...what mobo.

I need atleast 2x PCI, 1x PCI-E, 2x DDR2 RAM slots, 6x SATA, 1x FireWire, 1x IDE.

I'm looking at probably spending something like £60-£80 on the mobo, but as little as possible ideall, as the C2D chip already costs a fair amount (compared to what I'll get for the AM2 mobo + CPU).

I may be clocking the CPU, so it would be good to have a mobo that is capable of it, just in case I do want to.

So, spec me a mobo guys. :)

Don't be. I've got to admit I was always a DFI man, and Ive had my problems with this Gigabyte and up until a couple of days ago was slagging it off like hell.

I must have had some kind of bum Windows install because I wiped my system on Monday and since then I've not had one problem.

If you get this mobo, get some very good RAM, like the Ballistix. Got my e6320 at 3.2ghz (stock volts) as my RAM is holding it back I believe.

Exactly what I've got. :D .

Had to slacken the timings to 5-5-5-15 (2T)

Currently runs at 5-5-5-18 though due to the Asus board.

I doubt I would do another upgrade for quite a while, and knowing me, if I did then I'd buy a whole new mobo and CPU, so there is no need for me to get the P35 board, which supports the new C2D.

That is correct isn't it...P35 is the new chipset for the new C2Ds?

Ok, so I'm in the position to get this mobo and this cpu for £173 brand new and deliverd.

Is this a good price for these two, or should I wait will the price drops really hit and would I be able to get them for a substantial amount less on/after the 22nd?
