I have been saving for what seems like an absolute age to get to this point, but I can finally afford a new pc :D

I have looked through various posts over the last 2 months or so, and below is the spec I came to

Any suggestions/tips/advice would be more than welcome - this will pretty much be my first ever self-built rig :o so wish me luck

(I plan on getting the BenQ 24" 1920x1200 res to play this on)

Cheers in advance (apologies if this is very similar to another thread)

Was about to post a new spec, but looking at your it seems you got it right first time.

If you need / want RAID or firewire, then go for a DS4, but otherwise have fun :)

It's a winner.

However can you stretch a little more for a PC6400C4 kit?

Also with a monitor of that size you may want to consider the 640Mb GTS, perhaps drop the CPU to a E6300/E6400 and overclock?

Get a tuniq tower 120 instead of the ninja.
And even though the antec is great for cooling it's a tad cramped
with poor cable management i'd seriously consider a different case.

Thanks for the replies.

I will probably stretch the extra £50 and go for the 640mb version of the gts, I'll have a look at my final budget and probably drop back to the E6300.

Sata DVDrw - ill change that now - thanks.

Only reason I choose that case was because some of the reviews are really glowing, but changing to a Lian Li (for example) would be no problemo for me :D

Thanks guys...

One more question/adive request - as this is truely my first time, do i need another extra to this, eg. cables, case fans, etc or am i good to go as is?

good spec, 640mb if you can afford it would be good and grab a sata dvd rw. apart from that that baby should fly

Edit, damn posted before me

I have the Lian Li PC7 and I give it both thumbs up. if you can stretch a little the Akasa eclipse is a cracking case, although it doesn't come with fans. I would prefer both cases over the 900 IMO.

the mobo should come with enough cables for the job so I wouldn't worry about it.
