C2D's getting all the attention?

Hey all,

In most of the 'spec me a system threads' i've seen everyone is suggesting C2D's, there doesn't seem to be any mention of AM2 X2 cpus Why is this, are the AM2's not good clockers, or are they just not good price/performance as they were before.

At stock the AM2s can match the C2Ds.

But once you start overclocking, and the C2Ds overclock very well and very easily, the AM2s get left behind in the dust.

The Core 2 Duos are a generation newer, so give better price/performance plus overclock better as well.

As said above, C2D's are a newer generation and therefore much more advanced.

I think i'm still partly in that mindset

And in 6 months time it could well swing back that way. Its a very fickle market.

I think any chip you can clock the hell out of it, will do well. a lot more fun aswell. Price has helped intel , with lower spec cores running at silly speeds. I never did clock that well with a AMD chip , but heres hoping !
