Hi guys, just noticed on my win7 exp score that my hdd transfer rate has gone from 7.3 to 7.1. I've already checked that trim is enabled, and I haven't pit any more on the disk than there was before. Any ideas guys?

On a similar topic, would I see a great boost from getting a sata 6gb card?

Thanks guys :)

Well on a SATA III Port it scores 7.9, that's from brand new though.. i couldn't tell you if age is detrimental to those scores as i built the PC with it in for a mate

My c300's have been as high as 7.4, or 7.8, I can't remember which. This was when they were sparkly and shiny brand new though.

Currently my C:\ drive (after a trim session) comes in at 6.4, which is an improvement over the 5.9 it had been languishing at. Benchmarks still showed it was performing in rude health and I haven't noticed anything untoward. So go figure.

There's little point in owning a c300 if you don't make use of that SATA 3 goodness. If only to make you feel better about the money you've just spent. ;)

I was thinking about getting a second SSD to set up a RAID 0, in order to get bigger space and better speed, given the fact they're SSD and pretty reliable. Unfortunately I just found out it would not be a great idea.

1 - My SSDs are Sata III but I'd have to use them on Intel ports (Sata II) because Marvell cannot manage RAID very well. Performance is horrible.
2 - TRIM does not work in RAID.

Damn!!
