My parents have what used to be Blueyonder cable broadband and they want to use a laptop wirelessly with it but i have no idea when it comes to wireless cable routers

can anyone point me in the direction of what i need ?

they have the "brick" surfboard cable modem at the moment

are all wireless cable routers the same ?

ive been looking and cant seem to find one with the cable connection on the back like the surfboard modem they all seem to wire up through a lan connection

any help greatly appreciated

Hi there

Here is the sort of Router you need LINK

You will plug the BB Surfboard Modem via Cat5 cable to the RJ45 port on the Router.

Hope that helps

You just need a straightforward ethernet router and wireless access point. Take the ethernet output from their cable modem and plug that into the WAN input on the router. Something like this will do the job perfectly.

Edit: beaten to it :p
