Been with Virgin for a year now, £25ppm for their 10mbit service and looking to change.

Seen a good offer on their site, but they can't seem to match it when calling up:

Phone M
TV M
Broadband L
And a V+ HD box

£19ppm + line rental £11ppm = £30ppm.

Now that's straightforward enough, but on the phone they reckon it's a £99 setup fee, which seems high to me. On the website it says £49 for the V+ HD box and £20 off your first bill. Where does the £50 setup come from? On the phone they said it's because an engineer comes around to install V+, but I can opt out and do it myself.

Has anyone installed V+ themselves and how hard to do is it? I'd rather not pay £50 for someone to come round a plug it in for me.

Also, any idea why the online deal says just £49 for the setup fee?

Please help, can't get a straight answer from the call centre!

Yeah I thought about that, though it seems to indicate in the small print that any new TV customers would be able to get it, which is me as I don't have any of their TV services atm.

Here's the page: V+ Special Offer
