I can see plenty of Display Port to DVI connectors/cables, but are these also suitable for converting a Dual DVI output to a Display Port input?

ie: My KVM switch is DVI, so if I want to pump out its 2560x1400 video output from its Dual DVI socket to a Disply Port monitor, is it simply a matter of buying a straight forward cable for the DVI output from the KVM switch to the DisplayPort input on the back of the monitor?

For 120hz @ 1080p you need an "active" (expencive) converter, not sure about 1440p @ 60hz

    My KVM is 2560x1600@60hz...

Suspect I'll need to ensure monitor is DVI to be sure then...
