Not sure if this is the right forum, but it'll do :)

Ok, so my cabling is a mess at the moment, despite my best efforts to keep it clean during the build. Would be really good if someone could give me some good tips in making it look tidy.

Specs are in my sig for a general idea of what I've got to get power to. On top oy that, I have a SATA DVD drive, SATA HDD and an IDE HDD (still chugging along)

Time to tear this thing apart, hope I get a response soon :)

Ok, redid it, and got some slight improvements, cables are now out of the airflow and looks neater, but still a mess. not gonna bother with pics because I'm ashamed of how little of an improvement it is ;) most of my psu cables seem to short to get them round the back and tidy and back out again, and my fan cables just go wherever they want, couldn't find any cable ties so I'll try again later

You got a modular psu??

You case will play a big factor, the bigger the case the easier it is to hide the cables.

I've got an antec 300 and its difficult to tidy due to not being able put cables behind the mobo tray. I'd like to see pics of your current and any improvements if possible please.

if you have way to much cable, you can get a lot of it behind using the massive hole behind the expansion slots. I'll add some pics tomorrow when I've got time. Most of my cables are running around the mobo(or under if they are skinny enough, but I have a big mess of cable at the bottom of case where PSU is, and another mess where my 24pin,IDE,GPU and HDD all meet (had to move HDD to top to avoid using a molex>sata adaptor as my psu only has 2xsata connectors (hiper 530)

It's not that difficult ;)....

...I sorted the mess out by drilling one hole in the top corner near to the 4/8 pin connector and used an extension cable to reach. Then widened the hole near the optical bays to allow the sata/power cables through there too.

The rest of the cables are hidden behind the 3.5" bays and held using cable ties etc.

nicely done... I need to start drilling and getting some extension cables it seems :) and some cable ties to sort out my damn fan cables

Oh I wish, wish I'd gone modular. :( My Antec 300 looks a right mess at the moment, although mine will be fairly neat and tidy before long, I have several mods planned, including removing the 3.5" bays altogether. :P

I'm going to make a shalf that's level with the top of the PSU, to hide all the cables in and make the inside look smooth. Gonna spray it all black aswell at some point!

Modular ***, the cables are not only removable (obviously) but they are usually sleeved very well and can take a lot more punishment (ie stronger wires) and are easier to group, at the cost of half a % of the conductivity.
