Cable management tips?

Have the power the supply the other way around, the air is definitely sucked into the fan it and not pushed out of it, the air exits the power supply through the back. Also if your turn your hard drives around 180 degrees, your cables will look much neater.

Here's my build in the same case...

Good idea about the hard drives, don't why I never thought of that :o

PS, that is not an actual picture - I think you just posted the shell of the case without any wires connected :p

Seriously though that is a very good job, it almost makes me want to rip mine out and start over again, but I will wait until I get a better and modulared PSU I think.

Good job ;)

Not as clean.

Just don't look at other side! And it's worse now

Thanks. I now use 2 sided velcro instead of pull-ties. Much easier to use while figuring out where to put cables as can undo and redo easier.

I thought of getting velcro straps but was not sure how well they would hold and I thought they might take more space up because of there thickness.

I ended up buying a pack of 50 cable ties instead as they were really cheap, sets of 10 in 5 different colors for a couple of quid.

I buy the velcro on that online auction site 10mm x 5 meter for under five quid. I'm on my second roll now. Use it on all sorts of things from inside computer to general cord tidying to garage and garden.

About the CPU cooler, I have always believed it should point towards the rear case fan to vent what is probably (or used to be anyway) the primary source of heat in the case?

Cases (tower cases) used to always have PSU in top back making it impossible to mount CPU cooler to vent out top. Most back vents are 120mm and many coolers today are 140mm fans.. some 150mm fans. I mounted and vented mine up to take advantage of straight shot at bigger top vent when I had a Noctua NH-U12P. Now my Phanteks is mounted same way .. and the 140mm fan wouldn't have fit between RAM to side cover anyway.

Now many GPUs use more power and put out more heat then CPU does.

OMG!! If I could do that!
