Cable Modems?

Hi,

My friends NTL cable modem from generations ago is slowly passing away.

What would be best to replace it with?

We can't find cable modems on the OcUK site - are they something you have to get exclusively from your ISP?

phone up virgin, get a free replacement.

You still need a modem to plug into the WAN port as far as im aware, as has been said just phone Virgin if its giving up they will replace it no problems

Give Virgin a ring and get a replacement for free, I know one time they would only register cable modem mac addresses on their system that they supplied, I speak from experience as I bought one form a certain well known auction site rang NTL as it was then and they said sorry no go we didn't supply that one

anyway your paying for the service get something out of them.

The day you should read this (your sig I mean) http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=17818408 and then readjust your sig to something else or try the FTP from BY or Newsgroups they tend to horse your 20meg connection...... not some bampot site that gets horsed from people all over the UK hawking there bandwith to give poor result.....
