I think this may be a real basic question but would rather have this verified before purchase!
Am looking to purchase an OCUK nvidia 580 graphics card and plug it into a Dell27" monitor (top res 2560 x 1440)
Have done a little research into the cable requirements but am a bit confused when actually purchasing as I dont want to get the wrong cable of course!
The website shows the following two ;
OcUK Value DVI-D Dual Link M - M Monitor Cable (Black) - 3 Meter
and
OcUK Value DVI-D Dual link Male - DUAL DVI-D Female - 1.8 Meter
I am assuming I need the second one as this has the two females (to go into graphics card) and single male to go into the monitor?
The confusing part to me is why would you need male to male as per the first cable?
Any clarifications / advice much appreciated on this!
Best regards
Mike
