Hey mates,
What are your thoughts on cable sleeving? To most people who know nothing about computers, mine always seems to impress them. To other builders, it just looks cluttered. So what do you guys think? Find a place for them to hide? or show them off with pride?

They are now, and it lowered my cpu temp bout 7c. my cooler can finally breathe.

I was mainly asking because I'm debating which psu to get for my gtx 285 sli setup. I currently have one 285, but before I can get another, I need a psu with 4 6pin connectors.

Id be suprised if the cable sleeving led to this drop in temps, it may have contributed but id say the general time you took for cable tidying resulted in the temp drop which prob would have been the same without the sleeving.

But regardless show us the pics of your handywork :)

Upload it somewhere, then press the button that has the mountains and the sun on it, and put the URL in.

my budget is $300 max for a psu. I really want modular.

Well i'm currently at work so give me a min. any suggestions at to what site to upload it to?

Imagebam, photobucket, imageshack, flickr etc. etc.

I am also in the same boat as you - would like 4x6-pin PCI-E plugs for a dual GTX260 setup.

Are you guys wanting a pic of my case, or my temps. I don't have a screenshot with me, but I do have a pic of my case that I took with my phone that I will have to email to myself, download, and then upload to a site to link you all to it. Please bear with me on the time.

I have before and after shots.

Excuse the mess on the shelf ;)
thats a nxzt or something like that 600w psu that so far has been awesome, except that the cables are too short to hide them the way I really wanted to. I know it's not perfect, but a vast improvement if I do say so myself. And the annoying green cable going to the rear exhaust led (don't ever buy one if you want performance) is going bye bye tonight now that I just got my silver stone 120mm rear exhaust fan in the mail today. It pushes 110cpm.

Obviously I like a lighted case. Also I was hoping that maybe one of my pics might have accidently caught the on board temp display so there was at least that but, nope.

I apologize for the crappy quality its from a samsung instinct so what do you expect? A $200 phone to actually be worth $200? That's crazy talk! Anyway, I will try to get some better shots when I get home tonight and edit the ones above. I'll take my side panel off so you can get a better view. I did not realize I posted this in the wrong spot so if someone could move me to case central I would appreciate it!

Thank you very much. My friends are all haters. Can't give one complement on my setup. Theirs is ALWAYS better...

That's an Apevia x-cruiser thermally advantaged (i'm not sure how) Quiet case. I can attest to the quietness of this case. It sits right by my ear and it is silent. But if you take the side panel off, much much louder. It's amazing how quiet it is (all my fans are on max)

here's my temps, etc:

I'll update this temp shot after I get off work (i'm on break now) and I get that silverstone exhaust fan installed. I'm hoping it will create a push pull effect and lower my temps even more. A quick question though, why is the overall cpu temp always much lower than the individual cores?

I know I'm like all over this thread, but I live in the middle of the woods in the middle of the u.s. Nobody else around me is into this stuff. I have no geek friends :(
