Cables for Samsung 840?

I thought I had the correct lead for a Samsung 840 SSD but apparently not. Would this be ok to power it and pretty much any Sata data cable would do?

That cable should be fine, as long as you have a spare molex from you PSU. Do you not have any Sata power cables coming from your PSU?

As for Sata cable, its best to get for a SATA 3 cable (6Gb/s). Since a SATA 2 cable may limit your speeds.

Wow, what an idiot, took me all of five seconds to find a sata power cable, I just assumed it didn't have any. I had no recollection of seeing one before, I thought as the PSU had a few years on it perhaps it was before they were added as standard, but no, it's there. Thanks for that.

I had thought the majority of sata cables would reach 6Gb/s and that sata 3 cables were a bit of a gimmick. Guess I'll have to add one to my shopping list.
