What on earth am I doing wrong?????

Keep going through cables in two different cars with an android now a iPhone. I connect them up to use apple car play or android auto.

Cables work all okay then just keep disconnecting which is super annoying when everything is set up with the phone not the on board clunky stuff. Buying new cables seems to work for a while then goes back to disconnecting.

Anyone else???

One Ford one LR one Android one iPhone all the same, is it me??? Maybe it is !

It's cable quality or potentially the usb-c port. With the cable, get a decent quality one (from someone like Anker) and keep it as short as possible.

I had this issue with my S9+ though, and went so far as to change the usb port when I was already in swapping the battery. When looking at the old one... it was literally pocket lint that had gotten stuck in the port. Over repeated usage it had compacted into a really thin layer that meant the connection was flaky (I guess the tolerances on such a small port are low). It was only an issue in the car as I charge wirelessly elsewhere, but I'd say it would be worth getting something like a really thin toothpick and seeing if you can get anything out of that port. It may be compacted down like it was in mine, I did clean it but the lint remained!

Just be careful if you do go lint mining, those small pins on the connector have to be quite fragile.
