I was originally thinking of upgrading to SSD completely but then I heard about these cache disks but I know nothing about them. Do you just install them onto a spare SATA port and that's it? I'd obviously be cheaper and save having to do a reinstall of Windows ever though it could do with it anyway but I don't know if there will be any noticeable benefits. I currently have a Samsung SpinPoint F1. I'm assuming it will also work with SATA II.
Alternatively I could just go with a normal SDD or two and maybe even remove the old HDD to make it less noisy. I'll probably need around 500GB which is going to be expensive I guess. Would I be best just to get one SSD (say a 200-300GB one) and keep the old HDD for internal storage of large files?
