Not very much to be honest, the difference between 2Mb & 8Mb is pretty big but there is a law of diminishing returns beyond that. It's all to do with the efficiency of cache hits and the effects of cache misses and the subsequent need to flush and refill the cache each time. Understandably caching algorithms represent a huge investment for the manufacturers so they're somewhat reluctant to reveal a great deal about how they work.

Yep, above 8mb is the point where it becomes more of a selling point than actual performance boost.
