Has anybody ever been to Cadburys World? Any experiences?

What do you do there, is there like a tour guide and all that

Do you get to see them make all the chocolate?

Is it easy to get to?

Any help appreciated, ta

I've only been to Valor in Spain, but I'm guessing it's pretty similar. You get to go around the factory watching how it's made, and then you get to try some at the end. Possibly a museum as well? :p

Yup it's a tour and yes you do see them making the chocolate, you can also learn about the history of chocolate and go on a small chocolate themed ride. We went on a school trip years and years ago.

I've been there once about 6 months ago, got some free tickets off a friend who is a chocolate scientist there.

It's ok, a bit kid-ish i guess. You get some free choc when you get there to nibble on when you walk round the museum and onto some of the production lines.

The best bit is the cadburys shop you get to at the end, stock up on the bargain bags of "mis-shapes"... yum yum yum :)

Going to Cadburys World you would expect to get lots (or maybe a bit more than you do actually get) of chocolate, when infact you hardly get any, the only chocolate you get, is a small pot (about 4/5 spoon full) with a choice of toppings.

Then when you go through to the Cadburys tour, you each get a bag with 2/3 standard size bars of chocolate in. And thats it.

They is a section where you walk round the factory, and u get given a piping bag to draw on some marble table anything you want. You let the chocolate set, then peel off. But you are told, under no circumstances can you eat this chocolate, then you have to give it back, they remelt it, and pipe it up again :(

Good day out, but dont go expecting lots of freebies and chocolate!

The shop at the end, can be more expensive than standard news agents or even supermarkets, but they do a mis-shapes section, or chocolate that has come out a wrong shape to what it should be so they cannot sell um which you can get quite cheap.

The shop in the main building is a con.

If you get there early enough you get given a free pass to staff shop, which is a short walk away, which is mega cheap (like you would expect for a factory)

It is easy to get to by train as Bournville station next door and it is on a line to New Street. Bit more tricky by car but no problem really. My friend lives almost opposite the place but I haven't been myself.

Been there a couple of times during school trips.

They sit you down in a room and introduce you to the history of Cadburys before you take a tour through the factory.

You get to learn how chocolate is made and sample liquid chocolate fresh out of the machines. It was a while ago so this is all I can remember.

It's a Salmonella montevideo infested waste of space and time, you're better off spending the £13 entry ticket price on real quality chocolate and reading about the history of chocolate on Wikipedia.

As you can tell I didn't like it much :o

If you're expecting camel lakes, roads paved with chocolate and houses made of fudge and fondant icing you'll be sorely disappointed. I know I was :(

This is a lie. Stop spreading false hope.

One thing I remember - you smell it before you see it (in a good way!).

But apart from the smell and the little pot of semi solid chocolate (which is very nice) it is a poor trip out.
