Hello,
A friend wanted to retrieve some photo's from a broken laptop, rather than having it mended I suggested just getting a usb caddy. I had a look for him although the connector doesn't appear the same, I'm assuming it has a adapter added into it so it can slot into the laptop (since it doesn't slide in like my laptop which is a IDE one, just folds in as if it were the battery). The caddy I got says it does both IDE and SATA but I've only tested it for my IDE one alright.
Maybe something like this
is that right? would it be safe to remove it somehow or is there a special type of caddy for it to attach to. Here is a really bad pic of it if it helps. It's a Hitachi Travelstar 120gb sata model number HTS542512K9SA00.
Thanks in advance
