So after a clear out of my drawers it looks like i have about 3TB worth of SSD drives kicking about. Is there a caddy i could plug them all into to where Windows would recognize them as a single drive? Just seems a shame to bin them.

Depending how many drives
And how many free ports on motherboard
You can shove them in the pc
And use windows storage spaces
Can make them 1 pool
Pool with redundancy
Multiple pools etc
Could also add a pcie card for up to an additional 6 ports
If necessary

That's what I have used all my spare ssds for
As its free unlike a caddy
Unless you need the pcie sata card of course
A caddy may also be limited to a certain speed
Depending on usb interface
And the more drives it can take the higher the cost will be

A Caddy with USb & eSATA. If no eSATA on your mobo buy a pcie card with eSATA on it. I use one and it is pretty good in use.

You could probably knock something together with a Raspberry Pi and have them as a JBOD your main PC can connect to.
