Caffeine Detox (Cold Turkey)

yes it is particles of undissolved coffee granules flying through the air can get into your lungs.

I actually love coffee smell but don't drink it

OMG call the daily mail!!!11 :D

"Immigrants gave my baby cancer by drinking coffee"

they turk er jerbs etc.

I got some kopi luwak the other day (coffee beans from cat poop). It is the most expensive coffee in the world, and whilst it was delicious, I won't be buying it again at that price!!

I particularly enjoyed making it for everyone and not telling them it was cat poop until after they took a sip.

I was spending £20 a week in Costa, I cut down when the wife found out how much I spent, still have coffee but only occasionally now, feel better and I use caffeine for running and it has a better effect on performance now I'm not drinking it everyday

Some people in my office spend more than this. Madness.

As for me, I stick with black unsweetened tea :D

I used to be on 4-5 instants a day, now I have a decent coffee maker which means 2 things, a) I enjoy it more, and b) I drink less because it takes more effort/longer to make, now have 2, maybe 3 on a "bad day" :p and then strictly roiboos from 12pm

You don't need to give up caffeine entirely, wean yourself to one a day (in the morning), the rest you eat a balanced diet because if you have energy issues during the day that likely the issue.

I'm not really sure if there are any health benefits to cutting out or reducing caffeine intake. Pretty sure coffee in particular is actually good for you, in moderation of course. It's the sugar that's really bad, so if you like your coffee, try it without sugar. I stopped putting sugar in coffee a couple of years ago, got used to it after a couple of weeks. Fizzy pop is another one to watch, it's much worse than even coffee with sugar.

I don't really see the point of giving up caffeine. Sure, if you're one of those people who absorbs it much more quickly then it might be worth it, because you're likely to have a caffeine-related energy crash more rapidly too, or if you're having five or six cups a day and feeling awful as a result.

I'm trying to cut out all added sugar from my diet, so things like fizzy drinks, crisps, chocolate, sweets, cakes, etc. I noticed recently that if I have too much sugar in a short space of time, I experience a massive crash as a result. It's much more noticeable than a bit of caffeine so I decided to see if I'd feel any better if I cut out all added sugars.

My job is training people to make coffee. So I have to taste most, if not all that are made!

I've cut back massively on milk based. Stick to black for now. Can't start the day without my v60!!

I have 4-5 cups per day, tried quitting caffeine once but had massive constipation by day 3!

Nice cup of coffee and 10 minutes later the backlog was cleared :)

I find if I haven't been by mid day I have another cup of coffee after lunch and hay presto off it all goes.

Normally its just the 1 cup at work in the morning and tea most weekends.

I gave it up a few months back, as I did a water only for two weeks to detox etc. First few days I felt horrible, pretty much as if I was ill and hungover at the same time. After about 6 days I felt much better, but found the temptation of having unlimited free tea and fresh coffee at my work desk quite miserable. That first brew on day 15 was lovely though! Never really noticed any actual benefits once the 'hangover' had subsided.

I've had to reduce my intake significantly as it was causing me frequency and other bladder rated issues. Went through a prostate scare after a GP visit so within 24 hours I was in with a urologist for a further exam at. Long story short my prostate is fine (GP felt it wasn't hence the panic) and no infections or stones etc. So main man asks how much coffee to which I say circa 10 a day. Ah he says, reduce that a lot and see how it goes.

I walk away totally unconvinced as I've always drunk lots but took his advice. Within a week all my waterworks back to normal! As we age our ability to tolerate canine can reduce and for me it has. Still have a brew now and again but not 10 pods of espresso a day anymore.
