Hi what's making the picture on all faces grainy? is qled q6 and bbc hd

Limits in the quality of the source signal encoding cause by compression.

Too much sharpness

Too much picture "enhancement" processing

Possibly the incorrect base colour temperature setting and then applying more colour saturation to compensate

Red push (the TV manufacturer's attempt at redressing insufficient red in Caucasian skin which is a by-product of of trying to make whites look brighter by running at too cold and blue a base colour temperature)

These are just the starters.
 
[ ...broken record ... we've discussed it before - under night/dark conditions where is evidence of manufacturing variation between sets to justify individual calibrations,
especially for picture processing options there is usually large concensus.(noisereduction, frame interpolation, sensors, dynamic backlight, sharpness, ),
absence of such a discussion from the likes of Vincent etc speaks volumes ]
 
You might try downloading some sample 4K material to see how that looks versus 1080 bbc material, upscaled by the TV.

When you tried the q7 setting presuambly you applied the multi-point white balance and colour settings, since they do seem to back off the red.

4k looks great hd looks like sd
